Yes, it is a lot more expensive than previous Type R but I think this may be the most compelling new perf car for regular mortal people who can't afford 100k for a car, yet want something that has real 4 seater capacity (with people who actually have legs) and enthusiast performance (can match and beat M3 E92 on track) and freaking MANUAL gearbox (some Ferrari and Porsche buyers pay fortune for "extra" like that lol).

I will be making a little magazine on every generation of the Civic Type R.

I'm only noticing these Car & Driver acceleration figures now.
They are what I expected them to be - quick but not too quick.
The Honda Civic Type R is front wheel drive after all.
What surprises me is that Car & Driver are including all individual figures - from 0-30 up to 140 mph.
Could this be them going back to the old tradition?
I would love to think so.
Only time will tell!
Safe driving from Flt 158

I used to say that the Civic type R looked ridiculous, and riced up.
I now say, I prefer that, than this... just looks like a sedan with an aftermarket wing. It also doesn't help that it's slower than the old car in a straight line, and marginally faster around the track, thanks to more aggressive tires.

Honda is based and redpilled for sticking to a turbocharged high revving four banger with brembo brakes while all the simple minded bluepill and soyfreaks stick to their sturdy v8s and electrics
civic si, civic type r and the gtr are the ONLY proper drivers cars left

This is just an early estimation, but I think I have gathered some helpful metrics for the new Type R:
Weight: approx. 1440-1450kg (~50kg over the FK8)
0-100: 5.8 seconds
0-160: 11.9 seconds
0-200: 18.2 seconds
0-250: 35.2 seconds
With that being said, it matches the straight line acceleration of the brand new Golf GTI Clubsport. It should even be faster from 200-250 π

According to Auto motor und sport, the Civic Type R will have 330 PS (at least, on the Japanese market)

The power output was leaked by a Twitter user who pre-ordered the car.
